A little about North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue
Welcome to my site which I made to encourage people to rescue Staffordshire Bull Terriers at the North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue. Here's a little about why?
At present we have a crisis with Staffordshire Bull Terriers been abandoned for no other reason than the reputation of the breed. If you have ever come across the "staffy" you will of seen the loving, loyal, adorable, amusing character of this breed they are one of the oldest known breeds and the image that springs to my mind is “old faithful” Of course there are a few that do not fit into this description just as some people are different personality to others, but this is often due to upbringing and not the nature of the breed.
When the bottom falls out of the Staffordshire Bull Terriers life and who they thought was their best friend turns their back on them and abandons them to walk the streets alone a lot of these dogs are picked up and put in a "dog pound" where after seven days if they are not collected they loose their right to life and are put to sleep.
This is where charities like North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue comes in, this charity is run by volunteers who I respect 100% and who out of there own good hearts and back pockets struggles to rehome these poor dogs with the help of volunteers who transport dogs all around the country and do much needed home checks to make sure the dog gets the "forever family" they deserve.
North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue is a voluntary organisation dedicated to providing help to Staffordshire Bull Terriers and their owners. They are not only there to rehome dogs but also to give help and support to owners of Staffordshire Bull Terriers and to advise on any problems that may occur whether or not the dog came from them.
Dogs enter the kennels for a number of reasons and not always abuse or neglect, Sometimes an owner is ill and can’t physically give the attention the dog requires, some are abandoned or just not wanted.
If you are an owner of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and wish to have it rehomed we ask that you contact us and we will give as much help as we can, however due to a lack of funding we do not have our own kennels and the dog would benefit from the stability of been in familiar surroundings if at all possible until a new family is found and they go to their “forever family”
In emergency cases we can arrange to take a dog into foster care.
We aim to find our dogs new homes by working to a re-homing policy, which matches each dog's individual needs, characteristics and traits with the most suitable new owner and living environment. To achieve this, we need to ask prospective owners a few questions, which are followed up by an informal home visit to your home.
To assist in funding our work, you will be asked for a minimum donation of £60 for your dog. Of course if you can afford more then it will be much needed and put to good use in the assistance of helping other dogs find a better life.
If you believe you could help in anyway be it transportation, fundraising, fostering or rehoming a dog please contact them by pressing any picture on this page.
